Ford issued a nationwide recall of Takata airbags as a result of a defect in the airbags. The airbags may explode in a crash and spray shrapnel. The fourth recall by Ford includes over 780,000 vehicles in the United States. The vehicles included in the recall are the 2010 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX, the 2010 and 2011 Ford Ranger, the 2010 to 2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, the 2010 and 2011 Mercury Milan, and the 2010 to 2014 Ford Mustang. Ford will replace the defective airbags free of charge.

The O’Hara Law Firm recently settled several claims for policy limits on behalf of clients who were injured by drivers insured by Elephant Insurance. Elephant Insurance is a subsidiary company of the Admiral Group. The company is less than ten years old. Elephant Insurance currently offers insurance in only six states: Illinois, Indiana Maryland, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. Elephant insurance offers several different insurance products, but the primary insurance offered by the company is auto insurance.
The O’Hara Law Firm recently settled a lawsuit on behalf of a woman who was bit by a dog at a Petco location. While serving as a paid volunteer for Rural Dog Rescue, Inc. aka Texas Boston Terrier Rescue, Plaintiff was bit on the hand by a dog that Rural Dog Rescue knew had a history of biting. Rural Dog Rescue continues to run adoption events at PetsMart and Petco despite its history of violating Petco’s adoption and rescue organization policy.
Almost every adult has signed a contract with a clause requiring arbitration in the event the parties are unable to resolve a conflict relating to the contracted goods or services. These mandatory arbitration agreements often appear in contracts relating to employment, credit cards, car rentals, contractor services, phone services, car loans, home-building and investment accounts. Patrick O’Hara recently resolved a lawsuit on behalf of a plaintiff against CenterPoint Energy and one of its employees. While stopped for a red light near the edge of Spring, Texas and Houston, Texas, the plaintiff was rear-ended by a CenterPoint energy truck. The driver diverted his attention from the road in front of him for a brief period of time and was unable to stop in time when he approached the intersection. The plaintiff was taken from the scene of the collision by ambulance to a hospital. The plaintiff suffered injuries to her head, neck and back.
According to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 4.5 million dog bites occur in the U.S. each year.
